Product Description
The Vitruvian Collection is a series of sculptures that celebrate the human form as well as the human spirit. Inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man, each sculpture is individually hand cast and hand finished by experienced artisans.
The peace sign is believed to have begun in Europe during World War II, when a "V" for victory was painted on walls and buildings as a symbol of freedom from occupying armies. During the '60's and '70's, the symbol was popularized as a had gesture, using the index and middle fingers, indicating a person's hope for peace, truth and victory. This pair of cold cast resin book ends is of hands forming peace signs. Measuring 8 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/2 inches deep, the white hands really stands out from the heavy black bases. The book ends are a great conversation starter, and are sure to attract attention.
