These are just what I needed. They stand right at the edge of the top of my bookshelf, because unlike many other bookends, they don't have an edge sticking out both sides on the bottom--only the side the books slide onto. For such small bookends, they hold up large books. Also, you can still see the sides of the books since the bookends aren't solid-- for people who care.
I have no complaints about these bookends. They're unobscure and do what they're supposed to do.

A good investment if you want bookends that are inexpensive and/or low profile. I have normal sized books as opposed to tiny or huge ones. A book has yet to fall down. Thanks to "Bookends - Elements - SM Black (Black) (5 7/16" H x 2 1/4" W x 3 3/4"D - SM)"! My heroes! ;)

Bookends work well and are stylish. Minor imperfections in black finish. Just a bent piece of painted black metal with no padding/rubber underneath. I would buy this item again.
